“Organising a wedding from abroad in just 3 months meant making some quick decisions and trusting that all would turn out fine on the day. One of the better decisions was hiring Aileen. My sister, who was my bridesmaid, took charge of finding a makeup artist for us, and an online search brought her to aileenduffy.com. From the first contact Aileen’s professionalism and warm manner were obvious and we were delighted that she was available for us. Of course Aileen recommended a trial run in order to assess the look we might want and to familiarise herself with our skin type etc, this made perfect sense to us but, unfortunately, due to travelling and Christmas arrangements we were unable to attend. “I am very particular about my make-up, and how I want it to look on my face; natural and light. Additionally, although I like the barely there, natural look, my mom and sister are naturally darker than I am so often opt for darker looks. This is why I knew finding a make-up artist for my wedding, who could cater for all three skin types and preferences would be a nightmare, and one that I put on the long finger, until one of Damien’s cousins recommended Aileen.

I met with Aileen in her studio and was instantly put at ease with her relaxed nature and professionalism. Through our chat, and following my trial I knew I had been recommended a true gem who understood immediately the look I wanted. Aileen listened to my concerns, offered skin care/ prep advice, shared tricks of the trade and together we created a very natural wedding day look which carried me into the evening*.

I honestly could have not asked for a better make-up artist; after hearing we were doing a First Look, Aileen suggested staying on to top up my make-up ‘just in case there were tears’ to ensure the make-up was perfect for the Ceremony. Aileen was my makeup artist on my wedding day and I cannot speak highly enough of the job she did for both myself and my bridal party. Aileen was really helpful in advising the different colours and tones that would suit my skin in the run up to the wedding. Aileen was the perfect choice when it came to finding a make-up artist for our “groomsmaids”. Being two guys (with great taste!) we knew what looked good but had no idea how it was all created!
